toast with yogurt and fruit – toast for grown ups!

It comes as no surprise that I am not inclined toward the culinary arts, outside of my love for food. Part of growing up, I have realized, is being able to throw together some sort of sufficient meal on a consistent basis. Try as I might to live off of solely mac and cheese or Totino’s pizzas, I’ve reached a point in adulthood where my body legitimately needs more nutrition than that if I want to feel good. Needless to say, I’ve been on the hunt for something with the skill level required of my beloved mac and cheese, but with actual dietary benefits. Thanks to my beloved Siggi’s Icelandic skyr, I now have another option!!

I previously wrote about Siggi’s Icelandic Skyr in my that’s what’s up series, which I will link here for anyone who hasn’t seen it. To summarize: I’m obsessed with them and have ditched traditional sweetener-filled yogurt altogether because of them.

After sharing my love for them on my last post I got ahold of them to give them the heads up that I adore them and they responded with some super awesome coupons, stickers, and recipes for me to try out! So if I’m following my middle school rules of relationships, I think this means we are B.F.F. now…? Let’s hope so!

Me being me, I tried their simplest recipe first because I’m lazy in the kitchen and I have to say I’m impressed. I’m not generally someone who travels too far out of my comfort zone when it comes to snacks, especially anything posing a threat to my all-time favorite food group – breakfast foods. But putting yogurt on toast with fruit totally made me feel like a super trendy hipster who drinks tea all day and blogs. Soo… yeah, it fits in with my aesthetic pretty well.

Now that I’ve rambled about the details, I’ll include the incredibly easy recipe below!


And for anyone who doesn’t have Siggi’s readily available in your local store I recommend two things:

  1. Scroll to the bottom of Siggi’s “Contact Us” page, linked here, where it says, “Need more information” and download their sheet to bring in to your local grocer.

    I was just going to text you tonight and ask you to post this on your blog! I’m so glad you did!! Also I’ve never been a fan of yogurt, except GoGurt and your love for them has made me want to try one! Where do you buy them? Or can I buy one from you so you can benefit- or is it only with packs? I’m so proud of you for reaching out and getting their attention- look at you now! You get to freakin’ benefit from things you love and helping people be healthier! YAY GO JORDAN!!!! ❤

    1. You can just get them at almost any grocery store around here! I think I first came across them at Safeway. I only even tried them because I’m too obsessed with Iceland and then had the epiphany of like “oh, this is probably what yogurt is supposed to be instead of sugar and cancer” 🙈 You can snag some of my coupons if you want to try some though! They’re different but so delicious.
      Also, you’re the greatest for rooting me on. Even though I still haven’t ripped the bandaid off of posting on Facebook about the blog yet, I’m totally getting there!! Haha 😉 love you!
