This is another new series on the blog that I thought might be fun to explore as I’m someone who is simply obsessed with personality tests. I have taken all of the major ones, at least once, and I love finding new ones to take to compare and contrast if they suit me or not.
For me, personality tests are interesting because some are perfectly tailored and fit me to a tee while others are so far from anything resembling me and my personality, I wonder who came up with the test. If you’re someone who loves personality tests and is also interested in finding out more about yourself or seeing if the test is just weird, then follow along and let me know what you think!
I’ll be starting with the Archetype Personality test that can be found here.
Archetypes are defined as a very typical example of a certain person or thing, or a recurrent symbol or motif in literature, art, or mythology. While this definition may seem a little rough to connect to, it’s something that catches my attention. For me, I love analyzing works of literature and identifying different character archetypes in the various ways we tell stories as humans. Archetypes are something in literature, but from my observations as a human on this earth for 27+ years, I’ve come to realize that we can all fulfill a variety of archetypes in our own lives. There are times I have been the hero or the villain or the victim in the plot of my life story, and I have no doubt this is true for everyone. We all fulfill a variety of roles over the course of our lives.
This quiz was something I had not seen before in my study of psychology during college so it immediately attracted me as something new and different. As it turns out, it’s not that different. I think this one just escaped my scope of attention during my time in college.
Here are my results:
There is another page that has full detailed explanations of what the archetypes mean and all sorts of fun information on how to incorporate the aspects more fully into your life.
For me, these results are exactly spot on to the archetypes I fulfill and how I currently exist in the world. However, I think that if I had taken this quiz at different points doing my life, it would reflect something different. I’ve been going through a big spiritual transformation in my personal life that I think has pushed itself so far into my awareness, it has changed how I interact with the world. Obviously, becoming an archetype that I am currently learning and growing through.
I think this personality test would be interesting to take at different points of your life and see if your results stay consistent over time or if they change given different circumstances and life events. This is something I will no doubt come back to and also have my friends and family members take to see how we compare.
Is this personality test something you will take? If so, what are your results? Do you think the results reflect the current archetypes you are embodying or not?
I would love to share results and see what you all think!
