Exclamation Points are Unprofessional!

APPARENTLY exclamation points are UNPROFESSIONAL!

I work in a professional setting and have been in one for the majority of my working life span.

I use exclamation points all the time.

SORRY SOME OF US ARE EXCITED AND LIKE TO EXPRESS OURSELVES.

I’ve come across a few articles in recent months about how the use of exclamation points is considered unprofessional and has a strong correlation with being used primary by women.

AGAIN – SORRY some of us are able to use language and punctuation in an expressive manner.

There’s a huge difference between “Hope you’re having a nice Tuesday.” and “Hope you’re having a nice Tuesday!”

Try telling me there’s not a noticeable difference in how you read those two sentences.

Anyway, I think grammar rules are all well and good, but the exclamation point police can kick rocks because I WILL NEVER STOP!

Try outlawing them, see if I care.

Sincerely,

Someone who made a whole blog post about exclamation points because THESE ARE THE CONVERSATIONS THIS COUNTRY IS AVOIDING RIGHT NOW!! NOW IS THE TIME TO RISE AND EXCLAIM!

Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
